Casting Calls in Chicago

We are holding open casting calls in Chicago for Book of 180 Vol 1: Vanity, a ~12 minute supernatural short film accompanying the debut EP of Chicago artist STND180. The film follows a man desperate to escape his woes who learns of a mysterious book that gives him untold knowledge, but with a price. Tonally it sits between Paid in Full and The Shining — grounded realism meeting psychological horror, shot on practical Chicago locations.

Who We're Casting

• The Friend

  Supporting · 3 scenes. A man who had everything the book promised and paid the price.

• The Girlfriend

  Supporting · 6 scenes. The emotional anchor — warmth turning to grief.

• The Watcher / Vessel

  Minor · 2 scenes. Briefly possessed by a supernatural guardian. Unique physical performance.

• The Injector

  Minor · 2 scenes. Fights the lead for the book inside a car. Tight-space choreography.

• The Buyer / Driver

  Minor · 2 scenes. Calm, clinical, deliberate. Voice matters as much as face.

• Extras & Cult Members

  Friend group, restaurant background, and robed figures. No experience required.

Crew Positions

• Production Assistant

  2 positions. On-set support across all shoot days.

• Sound Mixer / Boom Operator

  Boom and DJI mics available to rent through the school. On-set audio experience required.
